like more than what they deserve. nobody likes judgmental people and like i get it, it’s understandable. but let me just say real quick: if steve jobs wasn’t judgmental about his work, would apple be at the quality it’s at? would he have such a wide and loyal consumer base if he wasn’t critical about the work and about the people he was working with? if lil wayne wasn’t judgmental about his position as best rapper alive, butting heads with jay z, would jay have ever put out product like watch the throne? weezy feeds off of jay. that is why weezy is where he’s at. that judgement gave life to his work and persona. look at other successful people. mark zuckerburg? did you see social network? what i’m getting at is
you can’t hate on a judgmental person because their criticism drives their success. if you don’t have anything to ‘complain’ about - if you don’t have anything you wish to improve - then you simply plateau and you leave yourself no room for higher well-being. that’s why this fucking blog is named stay hungry. like i need to remind myself that there is always room for improvement, to always be critical. otherwise i’ll just get docile and settled. why the fuck would you want to settle in your twenties when the entire world has so many possibilities coming at you? come on y’all. give judgmental people a break. surround yourself with people that can take that criticism so you find yourself in situations where your success is in constant movement.
“If I do something I think is new, it will be misunderstood, but if people like it, I will be disappointed because I haven’t pushed them enough. The more people hate it, maybe the newer it is. Because the fundamental human problem is that people are afraid of change. The place I am always looking for—because in order to keep the business I need to make a little compromise between my values and customers’ values—is the place where I make something that could almost—but not quite—be understood by everyone.”—
“Ugh, okay. Are you going to hit something? That’s a beamer behind you, one of the worst types of cars to hit. Don’t hit it. Are you checking your mirrors? Who thought to put mirrors on cars? Why haven’t they invented something smarter than mirrors beside video? Why can’t we see through the backs…
like, you put a straw in a glass of water it looks all cut in two? some people just look at the outside and be like NAW THAT’S A BROKEN STRAW. others be like, naw that straw is one in the same. like for real you guys, the straw wasn’t even broken to begin with.
well then damn, if you think it’s a broken straw then imma take that glass of water and drink that shit cus i’m thirsty.
“People are so fucking dumb. Nobody reads anymore, nobody goes out and looks and explores the society and culture that they were brought up in. People have attention spans of 5 seconds and as much depth as a glass of water.”—David Bowie (via waterloos)
